The last few weeks have been busy ones. This week, much of my family will be eating Thanksgiving dinner here. That meant a thorough cleaning last weekend. You know, the kind of cleaning where you actually dust stuff instead of sucking off the dust with the vacuum attachment.
My Mom and Dad joined Weight Watchers about a month ago. They've done well and have started mall-walking in the mornings. Since washing out of the PTA program, I've not been able to work out. I do miss the fitness center at the tech school. So I'm driving the kid into school, and then joining Mom and Dad for an hour of walking. Um.....ah...........I think I'm the youngest one there. That being said, there's a few ladies and gents that can kick my butt around the mall!
Now, for eye candy:
The pattern is called "We call them pirates" online at: http://www.helloyarn.com/wecallthempirates.htm
and when I saw it, I knew that it would make a wonderful hat for my nephew and son. I actually bought yarn to make it. I bought some alpaca yarn and knitted it up. Cool, but it's too small! For anyone !!! So now it's being knitted on bigger needles with the yarn left from this one. I know that I need to add a liner to it, but I want to make sure that I have enough Alpaca for the real one first.
Update on Shawls/Stoles:
Mystic Waters is bigger, but not up-to-date. I was busy working on the Secret of the Stole and spinning up more for both. I do like this shawl but it does require concentration to read and knit.
Mystery Stole is getting longer also. I know it looks striped here on the picture, but that is because I was extremely lazy and impatient and didn't wash the yarn well enough. I will attempt to
clean it better when I am done.
