Well then! Let's just get started, shall we?

My Piper's journey is done. In the middle is Malabrigo sock yarn in the colorway of Solis - a blend of dark blues, greens and a hint of mint. Which is why I chose the Mint to finish it off with. It was purchased off a Ravelry user since it is on backorder w/Knitpicks. It was a fast shawl to create, and yet...I'm meh about it. I like the colors but as a shawl it just doesn't work. I need shawls that cover my back and my shoulders and will lay there just warming me. This is more of an affectation shawl meant to accent an outfit.   This is just an awesome picture of Percy. He's got his "I'm a STUD!" pose out there. Nice form, ginormous knob, good honk...he's a stud. But I'm not going to tell him that :).   Now that it is warmer out there, the flock is in breeding mode. It's like a frat house on a Saturday night out there.............all day, all the time. Fights between ganders, shagging girls in the pools, girls nipping off to lay eggs, a...

Officially/Unofficially

So far, the coldest winter on record here in WI, officially.  Each winter there is one article of clothing that I grow sick and tired of wearing. This year, that would be my full-length powder blue goose down coat. Yeah, it's a great coat. It's warm. But if I have to endure that thing for another month, I'm going to scream. About a year ago I purchased some 10 skeins of blue alpaca yarn off of eBay. Last weekend it finally told me what it wanted to be. It's a farose shawl in cables. The pattern is entirely made up in my head. Right now I'm going to get down to a rant, so plug your ears. I'm sitting here with my ipad on my laptop, with photos in my ipad that refuse to be shared with my laptop. I mean, it's on the same flipping network, it's supposed  to be sharing on the icloud but no.  I went to 3 different websites, including Flickr to put this *ONE* photo on so I could share it with my blog. None of the sites would allow sharing with blogger, ...

Old MacDonald had a farm

I'm not that old, nor am I MacDonald, but I am part Scottish! To count: Three goslings hatched last week.  That was primarily why I was not blogging.  One was a bit slow emerging from the egg and needed help. There are 24 chickens under that galvanized roof that is the brooder.  They are bigger now, but still UGly! These chickens were bred for meat and show it: large breasts, spotty feather production, stupid as the day is long. We put them in the garage for protection until they are big enough to head on out to the coop. The coop is 99% done - we are working on shingles and that's it.  If it weren't 100 degrees in the shade, that would be done by now. Four ducks. They're fun to watch.  Until a few days ago, they were out in the laundry room. They're only a month old, but they wanted out...really wanted out.  So now they are in the coop with the larger chickens. Yesterday it rained for about 15 minutes.  Those ducks were outside happil...
